Hello My Name Is...
Karisa Cloutier
I've been a music educator for the past 22 years. I truly enjoy working with children and really making a difference in their lives.
I graduated from Stetson University in Deland, FL many, many years ago, with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. I am currently enrolling in the American College of Education to pursue a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and Design. I love taking walks, singing, dancing, learning new instruments, and learning new technology. I’ve been married for 20 years, and I have a 19 year old daughter, who’s a college student at FAU. I also have a 95 pound doberman pinscher dog.
I started teaching over twenty years ago with the goal of empowering children through music. I truly feel that music is a conduit to teaching multiple subject areas such as Math, English and Language Arts, History, Science, Technology, as well as Growth Mindset Principles. I try to incorporate these subject areas into my lessons as much as I possibly can, while continuing to teach all music standards. I find it extremely important to connect with each of my students personally as well as build a trusting environment for them to learn from and enjoy. Ultimately, I want my students to have fun while learning in the small amount of time we have with each other. I am a committed teacher, who loves working with others to reach a common goal. I also love to be apart of my students community, so if I am needed to help out with other school events- I'm there.
I look forward to working with your student this year!
